The Skyhigh Bucket List: 10 Things to Do Before (and After) You Jump

Skydiving isn’t just about falling from 10,000 feet; it’s about rising into a version of yourself that’s braver, freer, and way more fun to hang out with. So whether it’s your first time or your fifteenth, here’s your not-so-ordinary checklist for making the most of the madness.

Spoiler: this list is not about safety harnesses (those are non-negotiable). It’s about energy and memory-making and the art of freaking out in style.

  1. Wear something that feels like you.

A lucky scrunchie, your favourite socks, or your go-to t-shirt. It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it feels familiar. When everything else is wild, it helps to have one thing that’s yours.

  1. Pick your mid-air pose in advance.

Don’t overthink it. Just decide: arms wide? Peace sign? Smile? Scream? Even the outdated dab works, basically whatever you want. You’ll thank yourself when you watch the video later.

  1. Make a solid music playlist for the road.

The drive to Narnaul is part of the story. So set the tone by picking songs that get you excited and not sleepy. (Leave the slow heartbreak stuff for another day.)

  1. Eat light.

You will feel nervous, so heavy food won’t help. Eat something light and simple because you want to feel steady and not stuffed.

  1. Say something to your future self.

Either in video or in a voice note. Even if it’s just one line: “I’m scared, but I’m doing this anyway.” Say what’s real to you because when you listen to it later, it’ll mean something.

  1. Give yourself a moment after the jump.

Don’t immediately grab your phone. Let your feelings catch up with your adrenaline. Sit. Breathe. Look up. Your body’s back on the ground, but your heart and brain are still catching up.

  1. Call someone.

Call anyone who knows you not to brag (okay, maybe a little). Just to say, “Guess what? I flew.” Saying it out loud just feels even more surreal than ticking off a checklist.

  1. Notice what changed.

Even small things like how calm you feel or how proud you are. This is the stuff that sticks and what you’ll feel days later.

  1. Watch your jump video.

Laugh, replay it, share it, or keep it to yourself. Whatever feels right. You’ve earned this memento.

  1. Think about what’s next.

You just did something massive, so use that energy and try the thing you’ve been avoiding, whether it’s big or small.
